Winnie New York Noir Triangl Bikini Review

It is no secret that Triangl have been aggressively marketing their luxury neoprene bikinis from Australia via blogger PR which has caused their underwear and bikini brand to burst onto the fashion scene with a vengeance in the first part of 2014. The signature black piping against bold block colour look has since been mimicked by brands such as ASOS and River Island trying to emulate the pricey but popular brand.

However, while high street brands can copy the look they have yet to copy the superb quality and fit that warrants the higher price tag. Triangl bikinis are made of Neoprene, the same material as wetsuits, which makes for a thick, secure-fitting bikini which should stand the test of time, unlike the flimsier high street alternatives.

After lusting after one for months I took the plunge and ordered a Winnie style bikini in New York Noir - a strapless, black, wetlook option. The first thing to note is that while it is an Australian brand I received my DHL package from Hong Kong, but there were no customs fees at all, so for UK buyers you only have to pay for the bikini and postage on the Triangl website as normal. My bikini arrived 7 days after ordering and did not disappoint. The only point I would raise as a precaution is that the material does not give, so beware of this when choosing sizes, especially for bottoms. I have actually had to return the bottoms for a larger size than my normal size because they cut in slightly and created a bulge.

If you are looking for more feminine and fashion-led style there is also the Miami-based brand Bikini Luxe which retails at a similar price tag which might be worth checking out.

  1. If you don't mind me asking.. What are the sizes are the pieces in the photos? Large Top and Medium bottoms? I'm having such a hard time deciding which sizes to order!

  2. Hi Tara, great question - yes it is large top and medium bottoms in the picture, but I actually decided to exchange the bottoms for a L because they cut in a bit around the edges...to put into perspective for Topshop jeans I am a size 10, so I would say the size of the bottoms especially come out a bit small! Hope this is useful :)

  3. Hope you don't mind me asking what size your boobs are?! The girl on the triangl chat app was recommending a medium top in this style for me (34dd) but i'm sceptical that this would fit!

Looks fab on you btw :)

    1. Hi Bronwen, aww you're a sweetie :) I'm a 36D/DD so I would say go for a large, I've found their sizes come up quite small, especially in this bandeau style of bikini xxx

  4. BEWARE! This company has ZERO customer service... no phone numbers, chat people give you the run around, they say they are sending an email but they don't, then if you finally get to the end of this run around and time wasting they ask you to ship to Hong Kong pay the shipping and then they subtract the original shipping from your purchase! are you kidding me?? you end up owing them money and having no suit at all! I can't stand poor customer service this goes beyond poor into the SCAM category! BEWARE!
